Today’s Bird-A-Day is inspired by a beautiful piece of steel found at my local Home Depot. I was picking up some things for the house, when I saw a display of random steel cuts at the end of an aisle. This particular piece caught my eye. I loved rough surface and little touch of rust. So inspired, I drew and cut new block print birds to create this moment of taking flight. Enjoy.

beautiful!
Thanks Eithne.
gorgeous
I appreciate that. Glad you like.
Out of curiosity, what do u do with all the finished birds after you’ve blogged them? You must have a very full house!!
My wife says my bird art is everywhere. :-)
I keep the final art in my home with a few exceptions. I sold one recently to a blog follower, and my step son wanted a particular bird for his new apartment. However, my plan is to have an art show or two this year. And an end of the year art show to celebrate all 365 days.
That sounds awesome, I wish I could come to those shows! I think your work is brilliant (as you know), I’m a fan :) My favourites are the ones you do on the steel/aluminium and I really liked the newspaper one too.
Well thanks so much. I really enjoy the metal birds a lot. I enjoy the added ambient effect on the metal surface.
Wow. This is very beautiful. Definitely my favourite so far.
How nice of you to say. Thank you.
